Unboxing [US]: Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? - Complete Series: Limited Edition (BD/DVD)

Well this one had three different orders to sort out. I originally placed an order through Amazon US but I was convinced to try out WOWHD as it was way cheaper. Then Sentai had to pushback the set and I discovered the address set to the order wouldn't be able to get collected so I had to get it cancelled. I eventually switched to United Publications because I wanted to get the set before returning to Uni. You see it's a big box.

Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?, also known as DanMachi for short, is a 12 episode TV series that aired during the Spring 2015 season. The series is based off the light novel of the same name, and it's another one of those fantasy genre types but not 'person sent to another world' that has become a big trend. DanMachi is a show that has a mixed audience - half really enjoy the show while the other half dislike it. I personally enjoyed the show.

Sentai Filmworks gave this title the collector's treatment and rather than a normal box it's a huge box instead. The set includes all 13 episodes across two Blu-ray and three DVD discs with English audio and original Japanese audio with English subtitles. Both the Blu-ray and DVD are confirmed to be locked in terms of subtitles. The Blu-ray is also geolocked which is expected while DVD is Region 1 only. The on-disc content is the same as the standard edition, with the main difference being the physical contents exclusive to the limited edition such as the Artbook and Hestia Ribbon.

The OVA released in December 2016 is not included with this release nor the standard edition for those wondering.

Plot Synopsis (via Sentai):
Some adventurers delve into the sprawling labyrinths beneath the city of Orario to find fame and fortune. Others come to test their skills against the legions of monsters lurking in the darkness below. However, Bell Cranel's grandfather told him a different reason: it's a great place to rescue (and subsequently meet) girls! Now that Bell's a dungeon delver himself, the ladies he's encountering aren't the helpless damsels in distress he'd imagined, and one of them, the beautiful swordswoman Ais Wallenstein, keeps rescuing Bell instead.

As embarrassing as that is, it's nothing compared to what happens when goddesses get involved. Freya, Hephaistos, and Loki, with their powerful Familias, are intimidating enough, but there's one goddess whose relationship with Bell is certain to spark trouble. After all, Bell is the ONLY member of the goddess Hestia's Familia, and she's not sure if she wants to share him with anyone!
