Grav's Thoughts:

Okay so for this line-up we have 2 new additions plus 1 new catalogue addition.

Spring 2016:
Flying Witch

Spring 2017:
The Dragon's Dentist

Catalogue:
Hinako

Flying Witch was confirmed to be dubbed during one of the recent conventions Sentai Filmworks went to, and I'm not surprised by this announcement because it was one of the most popular shows of that season. The fact it got a limited edition wasn't surprising either since it's usually a dubbed show that gets the treatment these days. I'm not too sure on its price tag to be honest but the content seems fine for the most part.

The Dragon's Dentist is a new version of the short that Studio Khara put out during their Animator Expo ONA series a few years ago. The English dub was shown off on television but the simulcast was added to select territories by UK distributor Anime Limited. And as for Hinako, I don't know what Maiden Japan were thinking but I guess it was a cheap license perhaps?

Now the most interesting surprise is the amount of complete collection re-releases. Now I did spot a Samurai Girls/Samurai Bride collection but it looks like it's gotten delayed. The biggest inclusion here is the return of Persona 4 the Animation. Many of us thought this show was completely gone due to Aniplex with the Sentai collector's edition but the appearance of this set could make us think that the Blu-ray versions to Chunibyo and Infinite Stratos 2 could receive one in the future (despite being under TBS). Amagami SS & SS+, Golden Time and Log Horizon S1 & S2 get the collection treatment, which is perfectly fine by me as they are solid choices.

Last but not least we have the Chunibyo Rikka Version movie which is the last of three that Sentai announced would be coming to home video. At least it's a standard release and not collector's only.

That's it for the October 2017 line-up. I expect Chihayafuru Season 2 to be next on the collector's treatment possibly with another Spring title.
