Unboxing [UK]: Overlord - Complete Series: Limited Edition (Blu-ray)

OVERLORD has now come to the UK, with a special near-replica release of the limited edition. Find out what's different for the UK release with this unboxing.

Overlord is a 2015 anime adaptation of the light novel of the same name from studio Madhouse and published by Kadokawa Pictures. The anime simulcasted with some hype generated by both the cool illustrations of the novels and the studio animating the adaptation. Overall I felt it was a good show but it was pretty much an advertisement for the novels, though after 2 movie compilations a second season is on the way.

The UK release was announced under Funimation UK's label and was originally going to be a standard Blu-ray and DVD set. After demand for the limited edition release to be brought over, Anime Limited (who were helping Funimation distribute the titles for the UK) were able to make that happen.

The UK limited edition set removes the DVD discs to balance the price tag and offers some minor tweaks - they have black cases instead of the usual blue ones, though they are UK sized instead of the US slim types, and the artcards fit inside the box rather than separately however 2 artcards had to be omitted to make this happen.

The Funimation UK limited edition contains the entire 12 episode series in both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The subtitles are locked and the discs are locked to Region B only. The on-disc content is a replica of the Funimation release.
