Unboxing [UK]: The Anthem of the Heart - Zavvi Exclusive Collector's Edition (BD/DVD)

I had been meaning to pick up this film for a long time, originally going to go for the Aniplex version, but I decided to make use of the Unidays student deal and acquire the UK Zavvi Exclusive edition for Anime Limited's release.

The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda.) is a 2015 original theatrical film from studio A-1 Pictures and published by Aniplex. The film is also directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai who directed the Anohana franchise as well as both seasons of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

This film was given an interesting treatment. Aniplex of America have the English rights but they only brought over the Japanese import with English subtitles rather than offering any English dub whatsoever. So like Persona 3, Anime Limited decided to release the film subtitled only but this time there are two different variations of the collector's edition - they are both identical in terms of content both on-disc and packaging with the exception for the rigid chipboard box.

The version I have is the Zavvi version, which contains a nicely textured box with art from the Japanese limited edition Blu-ray's digi-pack. There's also a paper obi that covers the logos and content specs whereas the normal collector's edition has the content specs on the back cover of the box. The Blu-ray is region B and 2 NTSC only while the audio is, as mentioned, Japanese with optional English subtitles only.

Jun is a girl whose words have been sealed away. She was once a very happy girl, but because of a ""certain thing"" she said when she was very young, her family was torn apart. Then, the egg fairy appeared in front of her and sealed away her ability to talk in order to stop her from hurting anybody else. Since this traumatic experience, Jun lives in the shadows away from the limelight. Years later -- she is nominated to become an executive member of the community outreach council. On top of that, Jun is also appointed to play the main lead in their musical.
