Unboxing [UK]: ERASED - Part 2: Collector's Edition (BD/DVD)

It's been 8 months since Anime Limited first released the first half of ERASED and now the second half finally arrives. Is it worth the wait?

There will be spoilers for the events of what has happened throughout all of the series so be warned.

ERASED (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) is a 12 episode series based on the manga of the same name from Kei Sanbe, adapted by studio A-1 Pictures and published in Japan by Aniplex. The show aired in January 2016 and was one of the most talked about shows during its simulcast. I also watched the show during its simulcast and felt that it was good but rather over-hyped.

Aniplex of America have the rights to this show and as per usual they released the show early at a high price and forced some restrictions to the other English distributors over the title. Anime Limited and Madman, the licensors for UK & Australia, both had to release the show in two parts.

Anime Limited acquired the UK rights during its simulcast and offered a collector's edition two part release for the show. This second part contains the last six episodes of the show (episodes 7-12 respectively) in English & Japanese audio with English subtitles across one Blu-ray and one DVD disc. Now due to Aniplex rules, the UK collector's edition doesn't offer the original soundtrack (don't worry about this, as Yuki Kajiura OSTs get a standalone release later down the line) nor the manga that's available on the US limited edition volumes, however in return the UK release does manage to replicate the US booklet. Unlike Part 1 there are no added extras to the booklet in this release.

The booklet does contain spoilers so be warned.

The regions are locked to B and 2 NTSC only. The subtitles are white, unlockable and use the Aniplex US release translation.
