Unboxing [US]: Attack on Titan - Part 2: Limited Edition w/Ender Box (BD/DVD)

The war against the Titans continues with the second half of Season 1.

Also a note of warning. Due to Funimation's design choices (and licensing approvals), this Limited Edition Unboxing will contain major spoilers (in fact don't buy Part 2 until you've watched it online via Crunchyroll or Funimation, or read the manga) so if you haven't watched the anime (or read the manga) I suggest you don't look any further because I would rather not upset people who have just started the series and notice things that could make it worse for them.

Attack on Titan [Shingeki no Kyojin] is a popular show and it's no surprise that a special treatment was given to the domestic US release. While Funimation treated the set differently than usual, the set was quite lovely but had a bunch of risky flaws. One of the major flaws was the protection of the digipack which before this version was announced there wasn't any, if dropped or crushed the set is done for. But when they announced that Part 2 would include an artbox everyone was cheering, well until they found out it was a Funimation Exclusive. After even more backlash the company allowed Amazon, Rightstuf and RACS to sell a version of Part 2 where it's a bundle of the Limited Edition with the Ender Box. And that is what I have right here... three months later.

Yeah, safe to say I ordered the set from Rightstuf after hearing the quantity was very limited. The set arrived in September much like everyone else but because I was away for University I couldn't watch the set.

The Limited Edition set contains the second half of Attack on Titan Season 1 with episodes 14-25. The recap episode shown during simulcast is not included with the release. The set includes a bunch of physical extras weighted out in a digibook style set with a booklet containing character synopsis, interviews and more. Both the Blu-ray and DVD are region locked with locked subtitles.

The Ender Box is much larger than your usual Limited Edition set. It's bigger than a standard Blu-ray sized artbox but smaller than the DVD version.

Plot Synopsis (via Back cover):
Eren Jaeger vowed to rid mankind of the bloodthirsty giants who devoured his mother and destroyed his city. Now, after discovering that he has the ability to turn into a Titan, the world Eren promised to protect looks at him like he is the monster.

Narrowly avoiding execution, Eren’s fate is entrusted to the Scout Regiment where he must prove capable of following orders. But on an expedition outside the wall, a unique female Titan appears and cuts through the Scouts, leaving a trail of carnage and splintered bones behind her and making it difficult for Eren to control his rage. As it becomes obvious that a traitor is sabotaging the Regiment from within, Eren must ask himself who humanity's true enemy really is. Bloody revelations await beyond the wall in this jaw-dropping series io9.com calls ''Japan’s equivalent of The Walking Dead.''

Attack on Titan is available as two Blu-ray/DVD combo packs from Funimation in North America, and as separate formats in both Australia [Madman] and United Kingdom [Manga UK].

UK fans, I give you two choices, if you don't have access to Region A then go and import the Madman release because the UK version is a mess due to bad authoring and poor decision making. The second choice is that if you do have access to Region A then go ahead with Funimation's release.
