That's right, I actually bought the series again. Only this time it's the UK MVM release. I wanted to make use of their 20% off Blu-ray sale so I bought both seasons for a reasonable price. Here's the first season of the idol franchise.
Love Live! School Idol Project is one of Sunrise's biggest successes in recent anime years. The franchise exploded and tons of the idol group's music has topped the charts in Japan. The success of the franchise caught NIS America off guard and actually re-released the series with an English dub. I already own the NIS America Premium box set for Season 1 back in 2014, here's the unboxing post for that. This release from MVM Entertainment is based on the Madman Australian release while also based on the NIS America US release altogether. The contents are pretty simple; a DVD-sized set with a slipcover and different art inside plus the artbook from NIS America's release in paperback DVD-sized form. Unlike the previous DVD subtitled only release, the MVM Blu-rays are actually the same as the NIS America version (minus the NIS Trailers) so you won't get any issues that the previous version had prior. The audios are the original Japanese with English subtitles and the English dub. Like other MVM sets these discs are Region B only.

Plot Synopsis (via MVM):
The story is set in Tokyo, where an old school right in between the neighbourhoods of Akihabara, Kanda and Jinbocho is in danger of consolidation and closure. Nine girls, centering Honoka Kosaka, have stepped up to defy the imminent danger facing their school. Hoping against hope there’s something they can do about this, the girls strive to become famous, spread the word about their school, attract more students, and save the day. Now their “School Idol Project” begins to make their dreams come true!
