Grav's Thoughts:

Catalogue:
 - Hyouka
 - Record of Lodoss War / Record of Lodoss War: Chronicle of the Heroic Knight

Summer 2015:
 - Dragon Ball Super

Spring 2016:
 - And you thought there is never a girl online?
 - Kumamiko - Girl Meets Bear
 - Three Colors, Three Leaves

Let's talk about Hyouka. So for those who didn't know about what this show is, it's a 2012 anime series from studio Kyoto Animation based off a light novel series called Koten-bu. The show for some reason never received an English localisation in terms of streaming or other means, which was very odd. It wasn't until around early 2016 when Kadokawa finally made the license available to everyone, so this is the year in which distributors are now starting to release them. Funimation got this show as part as their massive package deal that also included Gosick, Nichijou, Scrapped Princess and a number of other titles that were once available to stream over on Crunchyroll (Good Luck! Ninomiya-kun, The Mystic Archives of Dantalian, Omamori Himari). Overall it's one hell of a package and I wouldn't be surprised if there were more to grab - like those films & OVAs of The Slayers for example. I've had my guess on Hyouka being with Funimation for half a year now and I was wondering what the hold up was (looks like the English dub was the reason, which caught me by surprise since I didn't think the show would work in English). Either way, happy to see that it's finally getting a release.

Record of Lodoss War, I've heard of the name a lot especially with the Dreamcast game I keep seeing at my local game store. This is a 90s OVA series that also received a late 90s TV series (Chronicles of the Heroic Knight) though many prefer the former. Only the OVA series received the Blu-ray treatment in Japan hence why the TV series is DVD only but at least you got a dub for both since they were already made many years ago - I hear Crispin Freeman is part of the dub so that's neat.

Dragon Ball Super is now starting to get a retail release, with the first thirteen episodes for the first part. Basically you'll have to put up with recaps of the Battle of Gods & Resurrection F storyline for the first 2-cour of the show. The real treat apparently begins with the Future Trunks arc which starts at episode 47 (so.. the end of Part 4).

From the Spring 2016 season we have Netoge no Yome, also known as And you thought there is never a girl online?, Kumamiko: Girl Meets Bear, and Three Leaves, Three Colours. Netoge no Yome I did watch and enjoyed a fair bit, its' not the best show but one that I found some form of entertainment value to it. Kumamiko I've heard had a very controversial ending so I'm curious about that. Three Leaves, Three Colours I don't know much but it did get a dub so yeah. Speaking of dubs, only Kumamiko is subtitled only - I guess there's no real loss on that one.

And of course there's Mamoru Hosoda's Boy and the Beast getting a special release. That's all of his films sorted... well unless Funimation licenses the Digimon movie and One Piece Movie 6.

That's basically it for Funimation's July line-up. Here is what's left in terms of backlog.
