Unboxing [UK]: Noein ~to your other self~ - Complete Series: Collector's Edition (Blu-ray)

A surprise package from Anime Limited's store. Their 12 Days of Christmas sale had a bunch of setbacks but surprisingly my Day 11 order arrived 24 hours after dispatch (whereas my pre-order sets took a couple more days).

Noein ~to your other self~ (Noein: Mou Hitori no Kimi e) is a 2005 original anime series from studio Satelight, director Kazuki Akane, and published by Kadokawa Pictures. The show was more or less pushed aside at the time but it's one of those titles worth visiting for its unique artstyle and a well-done English dub. I first saw the show by downloading the series on Xbox 360's Video service that Manga UK distributed a couple years ago.

This is the second time the series has been released in the English territories. The original license was under Manga Entertainment in both the US and the UK regions, however the UK suffered from some unfortunate defects. Eventually the license expired and was rescued by Funimation for US & Canada, and eventually Anime Limited for UK & Ireland.

The Anime Limited Collector's Edition release covers all 24 episodes across 3 Blu-ray discs only. There won't be a DVD release at all for this show. In addition the audio specs include English & Japanese with English & Spanish subtitles. The subtitles are locked, just like the Funimation release as Anime Limited are using their Blu-ray master. The regions are both A & B compatible. All of the on-disc extras from the Funimation release carry over to the UK version.

Plot Synopsis (via Anime Limited):
When summer break begins, Haruka is only thinking of hanging out with her friends - until one fateful night she learns that she's the keystone in an interdimensional battle for not only the Earth's future, but the very survival of all existence across the multiverse. She will have to trust not only herself, but multiple versions of her friends from parallel dimensions.

One of these visitors identifies himself as the future version of her troubled childhood friend Yuu. Karasu swears to protect her from the god-like Noein who wants to use her to collapse all reality.
