Unboxing [JP]: Vampire Resurrection (Darkstalkers Resurrection) - Standard Edition (PS3)

Next up on our import gaming haul we have another Capcom HD collection with the Japanese version of the Darkstalkers games. Acquired for a good price on eBay and arrived in very good condition.

Vampire Resurrection (ヴァンパイア リザレクション) is a compilation of games from the Darkstalkers franchise released in 2013 from Capcom. The games included in the compilation are Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge (known in the west as Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge) released in 1995 and Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire (known in the west as Darkstalkers 3), both of which are 2D style fighting games.

Capcom released these games in the west in the past and also this HD collection, known as Darkstalkers Resurrection. I went for the Japanese version for the same reason I acquired Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition in which it has a retail release. Darkstalkers is a fighting game series which is automatically import friendly so you won't need knowledge of the language unless you want to understand how to navigate the menus, the story and dialogue.

In fact if you switch the PlayStation 3 system settings language to 'English (US)' you will be able to play through the game with English support (except for the voices & character text dialogue) which is pretty handy if you want to perfect the gameplay and its trophies.

This collection offers some extra content that the previous versions didn't, like HD visuals, online multiplayer, replay sharing, spectator mode, and in-game unlockables.

Format: PlayStation 3 (also available on Xbox 360)
Version: Japan
Exclusive: No
Local Players: 1-2
Online Players: 2-8
Resolution: 480p/720p
HDD Space: 350MB / 2177KB (Save Data)
Trophies: Yes

Vampire Resurrection is available to own digitally and physically in Japan & Asia, while digitally for North America & Europe. I bought the game pre-owned on eBay (which arrived in pretty much like new condition which is neat) but there are copies available on Play Asia in its original release & best price budget release and on Solaris Japan.
