One of the oldest surviving Aniplex of America sets and probably the most expensive one is still around even after these past few years. I like Fate so I am insane enough to pick up this release.
Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] is a 2014 anime adaptation of the visual novel Fate/Stay Night by Type Moon and Kinoko Nasu. The anime was adapted by studio Ufotable and publisher Aniplex. This anime covers the second arc of the visual novel entitled Unlimited Blade Works and it essentially focuses on a different female love interest as well as a new set of story, characters and more world-building to say (I'm not that deep in the Fate universe so you can correct me on that).
This is the second anime adaptation of that arc, after Studio Deen adapted it as a film back in 2010. Ufotable is pretty much the main studio adapting the Fate franchise, although other studios have adapted the spin-offs (Shaft animated Fate/Extra, A-1 animated Fate/Apocrypha, Production IG will soon animate one of the Fate/Grand Order arcs etc.). Like Fate/Zero, this anime adaptation was released as a split-cour so we have the first half of the series with this box set.
Episodes 0, 1 and 12 are double-length so that's probably one of the reasons why Aniplex decided to overprice the set a bit. They also released the US sets fairly close to the Japanese counterparts I believe so that's another factor.
The limited edition box set contains episodes 0-12 of the anime series across 4 Blu-ray discs. The audio options available are the original Japanese audio with English & Spanish subtitles as well as the English dub. The subtitles are optional and the regions are available for all territories, as Aniplex generally do not region lock their Blu-rays (except for Kiznaiver because of Crunchyroll). Also included in the limited edition set is a booklet, a Weiß Schwarz card and the original soundtrack of the first season set.

Plot Synopsis (via Aniplex):
Fuyuki City, surrounded by the sea and mountains, becomes the setting for an ancient ritual. Seven masters are given control of heroic spirits in order to realize the mythical Holy Grail, said to grant its owner any wish. These heroic spirits, or "servants," represent legendary heroes of various classes: Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Each master will enter into a contract with their chosen servant and battle the others to the death until only one pair remains. This is the Holy Grail War.
With her servant Archer, young and capable mage Rin Tohsaka enters the Fifth Holy Grail War as the sole heir to the prestigious Tohsaka family after her father's death. But when Shirou Emiya, a boy from Rin's school, unwittingly becomes a Master and is fatally wounded in battle, she has no choice but to save him. With Shirou and his servant Saber, Rin sets out to strike down the conspiracies surrounding the Holy Grail War. Will the Holy Grail bless Rin and Shirou's path toward victory? Or will they be cursed with defeat?
