I was originally going to pre-order this set considering it was one of my favourite shows of 2013, but given the nature of NIS America's premium sets always staying around, I decided to delay it to focus on other sets. Recently however, the set sold out on NIS America's main website and figured I should pick it up just to play it safe. Suddenly someone on Anime UK News offered me the set at a reduced price and I accepted. A day later the set arrived.
Here's an overview of the anime released by NIS America in their premium edition form.
Genshiken Second Generation is somewhat the third season to the Genshiken anime but not considered the third season given the rest of the manga material for the first Genshiken was not adapted. Second Generation is however the sequel to the main series which centres on a new cast of characters with cameos from the original. But I enjoyed watching Second Generation and I hope NIS America rescue the original seasons and put them out on Blu-ray (despite being upscales they're fairly good from the screenshot comparisons I've seen).
This release from NIS America contains all 13 episodes across two Blu-ray discs in addition to a hardcover art booklet which contains episode details, character illustrations and more, all placed together in a chipboard box. The box design is more akin to Toradora!'s English Dub premium set than Love Live!'s Season 1 premium set as they are now DVD sized sets instead of an A3 booklet sized set. This is probably due to the feedback from fans or a new design choice. The discs are region locked to A and have unlockable subtitles during playback.
Despite what the box states and how the previous seasons were dubbed in English, Genshiken Second Generation is Japanese with English subtitles only.

Plot Synopsis (via NIS America site):
It's a new semester at Shiiou University, and for "The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture," AKA Genshiken, that can only mean one thing - new freshman recruits! Originally founded as a club for otaku to discuss their unabashed love of anime, manga, and video games with one another, the current president of Genshiken, Chika Ogiue, may have bitten off more than she can chew by recruiting a bunch of yaoi-obsessed fujoshis to join their ranks! Meanwhile, the original members of Genshiken who have since graduated find themselves coming to terms with their new lives as productive members of society.

Genshiken Second Generation is available on Blu-ray from NIS America. Other regions have yet to pick up the license for the series.
