Unboxing [US]: Last Exile -Fam, the Silver Wing- - Part 2 (BD/DVD)

Back in November 2013 I picked up the first half of Last Exile -Fam, the Silver Wing-, it was during the time that I focused solely on Funimation's Limited Edition sets so I didn't prioritise on the second half at all. Now fast forward to January 2016 and I finally have the second half.

Here's a look at what Part 2 has to offer.

Unboxing [US]: Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor - Season 2: Anime Classics (BD/DVD)

So Funimation have announced that their license for Darker Than Black has just expired and because of that the stock for both Season 1 (the DVD version is already OOP, so what's left is the Blu-ray Premium Edition) and Season 2 aka Gemini of the Meteor are going to go out of print as a result. Here I have the Anime Classics release which was brought out around May 2015, the same month that the Season 1 Premium Edition was released.

Anywho, let's see what Chinese Electric Batman is doing.

Unboxing [US]: Tales of Graces f - Standard Edition (PS3)

Tales is a series I've been meaning to pickup for quite sometime now. I've owned Tales of Symphonia Chronicles since it got released but I only just recently finished Symphonia. Now with the prices going up I finally had the opportunity to go ahead and pick up another Tales game.

While the UK version received a special edition release, I'll be calling this US copy a standard edition regardless.

Overview [JP]: E.X. Troopers (PS3)

Next up on my recent overview posts of Japanese PS3 games is a strange addition to the Lost Planet universe, but it still has a neat artstyle to it.

I picked this game up for a really cheap price over on Nippon Yasan and it's still available for a low price for many retailers.

Overview [JP]: J-Stars Victory VS - Standard Edition (PS3)

Next up on my overview Japanese games backlog is my second import J-Stars Victory VS. Like Project DIVA I also ended up using the Amazon Marketplace to pay for these (not recommended because that marketplace is unpredictable, as evidently seem with my copy of Project DIVA F 2nd which ended up being the Region 3 version).

Anywho the game got localised so what's the original set like then? Let's find out.

Industry News: Section23 Films May 2016 Release Slate

Now I'm on schedule, phew. Sentai Filmworks have announced their latest line-up with some neat additions including some popular titles!

Here's the list of anime that Section23 Films have scheduled for the month of May 2016.

Unboxing [US]: Harlock: Space Pirate 3D - Limited Edition (Blu-ray 2D/3D)

The first pickup of 2016! This should have arrived a month ago but the distributor wanted to add more quality control to the discs so they pushed it back to this month. This is a rather unusual anime release but nevertheless it's got a pretty decent treatment.

From Twilight Time, here's the Blu-ray 2D/3D release of Harlock: Space Pirate.

Overview [JP]: Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F - Standard Edition (PS3)

It's about time I got through some of my older Japanese PlayStation imports given it's been a year since I started adding them to this blog. There are only a couple imports that I didn't cover but I felt like covering them regardless.

The first import I'll be covering is my very first one. I got this game through the Amazon marketplace and honestly I paid way too much for it but I still put a lot of hours into it.

Overview [UK]: Durarara!! - Season 1: Standard Edition (Blu-ray)

Back in May 2015 I received my copy of replacement discs for the Durarara!! Collector's Edition. The set suffered from poor quality control from Siren Visual and because of the amount of hate being given as a result, Anime Limited announced they would make their own authoring for the series.

It's been a while and given Durarara!!x2 Shou is on the horizon for the UK I decided to provide you guys a look at what the standard edition set has to offer. It's not an unboxing since I already opened it, so in this case I call it an 'Overview'.

Industry News: Aniplex of America Otakon Vegas 2016 Announcements

So despite Funimation not showing much (aside from the April slate), Aniplex on the other hand just showed off a bunch of new releases as well as a dub cast.
Here's the list of anime Aniplex of America will be releasing over the course of Spring 2016.

Industry News: Funimation April 2016 Release Slate

Funimation didn't have anything to announce at a recent convention but the April slate was revealed just before then. This month is pretty huge but there's only a few limited editions.

Here's the list of anime that Funimation have scheduled for the month of April 2016.

Random Topic: Funimation's Redesigned Streaming Service is coming to the UK

Rather than making this an industry news topic, I figured I'll go into detail a bit on my thoughts about the fact that this is perhaps the biggest news that the UK anime community has received for a long time now.

For this random topic, I'll be talking about Funimation entering the UK market via streaming. For now, we have no idea if they have any plans for physical media. Honestly I'm pretty excited for this.

Random Topic: Round-Up of Autumn 2015's Legal Anime UK Streaming List

Considering I made a post dedicated to this a couple months back, I decided to do the same for the Autumn 2015 season. I will only cover what was available for the UK & Ireland.

Despite the first season of Utawarerumono was rescued by Funimation, Sentai picked up The False Faces and added to Crunchyroll!

Otaku Collection 2015: November/December Update | Xmas Pickups & Rightstuf Sale!

Happy new year everyone! Originally I was going to make a November update but I decided to postpone my plans for certain items in preparation for the Rightstuf Christmas sale. So for once I got a ton of items in the same month (December), though most are not special but they're at least worth noting. In addition I also picked up some novels for the first time in over a month.

Here's the latest pickups from the course of November and December 2015.
