Unboxing [UK]: Psycho Pass: The Movie - Collector's Edition (BD/DVD)

Went to HMV and discovered they had the Psycho Pass film in stock so I picked it up and used my £5 offer to get the set for £14.99. Neat.

Here's what the set has to offer.

Psycho Pass: The Movie is a film that continues after the events of Psycho Pass 2. The same team behind the first season (Gen Urobuchi and Naoyoshi Shiotani) alongside studio Production I.G return for this instalment. While I haven't seen the second season, I do believe you can jump right into the film if you have only seen the first season. I should probably double check on that one.

This release from Anime Limited is the Collector's Edition version that contains the film on both Blu-ray and DVD. The film includes an English dub along with Japanese audio with English subtitles. The authoring was handled by Funimation so the discs are pretty much identical. The subtitles however are locked during playback on Blu-ray but since they're Funi discs the regions are A, B, 1 & 2 confirmed (region 4 may also but I can't test that zone). For the Collector's Box we have clean art with the added Anime Ltd logo on the spine plus the digipack's spine is also clean of any info as well. You also have a booklet that contains character info and interviews.

Plot Synopsis (via Anime Limited):
In a futuristic Japan, the Sibyl System is charged with keeping the peace. Using extensive surveillance and biological monitoring to gauge the likelihood that individuals will commit a crime, the police are able to use weapons called Dominators to remove potential criminals from the population before they become a problem. Confident with the success of the System within their own borders, the Japanese government has begun to export the technology to other countries, planning to ultimately spread the System across the globe.

When the state of SEAUn brings the Sibyl System in to test its effectiveness, it becomes a haven of peace and safety for a time. Eventually, terrorists from SEAUn begin appearing in Japan, somehow slipping through the Systems security and attacking from within. Desperate for answers, Inspector Akane Tsunemori is sent overseas to bring the terrorists to justice. But when her investigation forces her into a standoff with an old ally, will she be able to pull the trigger?
