Unboxing [UK]: Your Lie in April - Part 1: Collector's Edition (Blu-ray)

Back when the show was simulcasting, I did not expect this series to turn out well as much as I expected. And now it's out in the UK. This is another Aniplex title I decided to stick with the UK version for but the Anime Ltd offering was decent enough.

Here's what the set has to offer.

Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) is a two-cour show from studio A-1 Pictures and based on a manga of the same name by Naoshi Arakawa. The story can be rather melodramatic at times but the music is pretty damn good. I know Aniplex added the show's OST for their sets but you can pick it up on its own without any hassle via Amazon Japan, same with the other OST that covers the music performances (called Boku to Kimi to no Ongakuchou). The show aired during the Autumn 2014 season.

This release from Anime Limited is the Collector's Edition version that covers the first half of the series (episodes 1-11) across two Blu-ray discs. The show does contain an English dub along with Japanese audio with English subtitles. I've heard the English dub is very good so that's really neat. Since the discs were authored by Madman, they are Region B only. The subtitles are switchable during playback. As for the box set, it's chipboard with only a small sheet for the back info. That means the usual spine doesn't have any logos on it (like the Anime Limited logo and BBFC). Similarly to how the Gundam UK sets are being handled, Part 1 of the Collector's Edition comes with a box.
