Next item is one of four Birthday pickup items and a title I have been dreaming of watching since I started.

Black Lagoon is a 2006 anime series from studio Madhouse based on the manga of the same name, and published by NBC Universal Entertainment Japan. Black Lagoon is one of the best anime shows around and its English dub is a particular highlight because it works well with the setting (anime is usually set in Japan, but Black Lagoon is set elsewhere).
The show has two major seasons; Black Lagoon: The First Barrage and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage. Both of these seasons are included with this release. The series was originally licensed under Geneon Entertainment but the publisher eventually went defunct, and the license transferred to Funimation as it was one of the better selling shows.
This release from Funimation is an odd one. While the packaging is a simple complete series set, the publisher apparently labelled this as an Anime Classics release alongside FLCL despite not using the banner that is common with it. Anywho the release contains both Black Lagoon: The First Barrage and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage in English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The First Barrage has the first 12 episodes and The Second Barrage has the next 12 episodes. The subtitles are unlockable and the discs are region locked to A & 1 NTSC only. It is also worth noting that the title itself is an upscaled master, note that this is from the Japanese source and not one of Funimation's in-house works. It is however in 1080p rather than interlaced.

Plot Synopsis (via Funimation):
Rokuro was an ordinary Japanese businessman. A suit hired to entertain corporate high rollers and serve as a whipping boy for the big bosses with the real juice. A mission to deliver a mysterious disk to the deadly waters east of China seemed like his big break, but some things just weren't meant to be. A ruthless gang of mercenaries fronted by a gunslinging femme fatale in scandalously short shorts kidnapped Rokuro and held him for ransom. When his company refused to pay, he became their property. To survive, he was forced to reinvent himself as Rock, the brains behind the beauty and brawn of Black Lagoon: the most cutthroat crew of mercs ever to hustle the mean streets of Roanapur. A nightmare of a metropolis where the bad guys are really bad - and your friends might be even worse.
