Another fan service show hits my collection. This time we're going to England.
Here's an overview/unboxing for the complete series of Unbreakable Machine Doll from Funimation, in Limited Edition form.
Unbreakable Machine Doll is an intriguing one. On one side it's got quite a ton of fan service and it's set in England (where I live and yes interesting enough, I do like fan service), and on another note the fanbase have said good things about the show in general. The show (known as Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai in Japanese) is based on a light novel and judging by the episode names have adapted a couple of arcs from the story (like Irregular at Magic High School did).
The show was released in standard and limited editions. The version I picked up was the Limited Edition which is what I generally get from Funimation. Both standard and limited editions have the same on-disc content by which they contain the complete series (episodes 1 to 12) on Blu-ray and DVD with quite a ton of extras including all seven OVA specials and a mini booklet with some fanservicey art. The on disc extras include the likes of opening/closing animations and Funimation commentaries. The Blu-ray and DVD have unlockable subtitles and will work on UK and Australian Blu-ray players. The DVDs are also work on UK and Australian DVD players.

From the director of Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin comes a thrilling combo of action and fantasy featuring six never before seen OVAs!

Raishin is a puppeteer capable of using magic to power up Yaya, his automaton, for ruthless battles no mere human could survive. In the wrong hands, Yaya is a deadly weapon, but the honorable Raishin, despite his mysterious quest for vengeance, takes no pleasure in killing for sport. Instead, he joins forces with a harem of gorgeous classmates to unmask those responsible for a rash of heinous human experimentation. If new enemies and terrible grades don’t spell doom for Raishin, he and Yaya might live long enough to conquer the school where magic meets machine!

Unbreakable Machine Doll is available on Blu-ray and DVD from Funimation.
Great to see this photos of Unbreakable Machine-Doll now i'll know what my set will look like. I really liked the show too, and indeed it contains fanservice but luckily enough not massive.
ReplyDeleteYaya is just lovable and (a bit) crazy too :-)
Wonder if there ever will be a second and subsequent seasons considering there is still enough material. Only the first four of fourteen light novels made it into this first season. Unfortunately as far as i know there are no plans (yet) for another season.
