Industry News: Sentai Filmworks September 2016 Release Slate

Sentai is going through a rather small slate this time around, at least we have some TBS shows getting Blu-ray releases!

Here's the list of anime that Sentai & Maiden Japan have scheduled for the month of September 2016.

No Collector's Editions yet again, though I have a feeling one or two may crop up later in the year. We also have two live-action films in the form of Corpse Party and The Return of Godzilla (the uncut version of Godzilla 1984) coming to Blu-ray and DVD this September (27th and 13th respectively).

---

So for this month we have some new titles, a couple rescues and a couple Blu-ray upgrades.

Rozen Maiden's newest season and Sakura Trick are now finally getting a Blu-ray release. Both titles were affected by TBS' Blu-ray holdback which affects a lot of Sentai Filmworks titles. There are still a few titles that haven't yet received a Blu-ray release like IS: Infinite Stratos 2 but I'm sure it'll happen eventually.

To my surprise, Sentai are releasing both Eden and Labyrinth together in one package. I figured they would split them up since they have released OVAs on their own before but I guess this is a good thing.

The rescue titles are Clamp School Detectives and Hanaukyo Maid Team: La Verite. Both were released before with an English dub, though I don't know if there were any special extras attached to them that is getting ignored for this future re-release (this has happened before with Discotek I know that).

Chaika Season 2 finally gets released. It's a shocking truth I tell you.

That's pretty much it for me on this month. It's short but has some pretty strong titles including the second half of Den-noh Coil and RIN-NE. I'm still waiting for Knights of Sidonia Season 2 to come out already.
