Industry News: Sentai Filmworks March 2018 Release Slate

The Sentai Filmworks line-up gets revealed a week earlier than we were expecting, but we have another set of titles revealed including one limited edition and some films!

As a brief reminder, there will be no DVD versions for any brand new releases and re-releases. To ensure consistency select titles that have sequel contents (whether it's a second series or a second film) will keep the DVD option for now.

The March 2018 release slate features the following:

 - 1 limited edition set

 - 1 re-release for complete collection model

 - 1 subtitled-only release

 - 2 films (one of which is Blu-ray only)

Girlish Number

I guess Sentai are going for a slow and steady keeps the pace (I guess that makes no sense when I think about it).

The latest new addition from the newer seasons is Girlish Number, which is getting a Blu-ray only subtitled only release. This is a comedy series if I recall and probably might not work in dub form so I'm fine with the outcome.

The two recently acquired movies are both getting dubbed for home video. The second Initial D Legend movie will keep the consistency from the previous film's release in which it'll be a combo pack. The Life of Budori Gusuko which is infamous already for being 'pretty terrible' is going to be a Blu-ray only release like Typhoon Noruda was.

Then we have the second season of Chihayafuru which is the limited edition set of the month, however this one is cheaper ($50 less in fact) and is basically designed so that the contents fit inside the Season 1 box set which is a smart move in my opinion. It's another 25 + OVA episodes so for that price it's not bad actually.

Finally we have a complete series collection for the SNAFU anime series, with both Season 1 & 2 together. No dub of course.
