An added bonus from the delayed Christmas haul, Zavvi discounted the collector's edition for a surprisingly good price so I now finally own the series.
Lord Marksman and Vanadis (Madan no Ou to Vanadis) is a 2014 anime series from studio Satelight, director Tatsuo Satou and published by Kadokawa Pictures based on the 2011 light novel series written by Tsukasa Kawaguchi.
This was among Noein, Riddle Story of Devil and Tokyo ESP as part of a Funimation + Kadokawa Pictures type package deal as they were licensed around the exact same time. Each one had a fair share of delays but with the exception of Riddle the rest got released in the end. Lord Marksman and Vanadis was released on June 2016 and had remained close to SRP in terms of pricing for ages, which put me off for a long time.
The Anime Limited collector's edition contains all 13 episodes across 2 Blu-ray discs in both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The regions are both A & B compatible and the subtitles are locked. The on-disc masters are identical to the Funimation US release.
