Unboxing [UK]: Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers- - Complete Series: Collector's Edition (Blu-ray)

Pony Canyon have been an on-going issue over in the United States in terms of anime releases, but thankfully one of their titles has managed to reach the UK as a cheaper alternative, heck it even has an English dub available exclusively with this release!

Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers- (Rokka no Yuusha) is a 2015 anime series adapted from the light novel of the same name written by Ishio Yamagata. The anime was animated by studio Passione and directed by Takeo Takahashi with Pony Canyon publishing the release.

Rokka received a rather mixed response in the anime community. Many enjoyed the series while also taking note of the fact that it only adapts the first volume of the light novel. The series also suffered from Ponycan US's release pattern which is three volumes of collector's edition sets (four episodes each) for high prices that don't even have Japanese quality discs to them compared to Aniplex. It was also subtitled only which didn't help.

Years later Anime Limited surprised everyone with the announcement of them acquiring the UK & Ireland rights, however there were fears it would get caught up in the Crunchyroll fiasco. Now you may be wondering what Crunchyroll has to do with all of this, well in case you did not know Crunchyroll have international rights outside Asia, United States & Canada for various Pony Canyon titles including Garakowa, The Lost Village, and Sound! Euphonium Season 1 (the latter of which will also be released by Anime Limited).

Crunchyroll have also offered dubs for various languages including English surprisingly and no one knew until Anime Limited revealed it when they confirmed the home video packaging deals. This dub is from Bang Zoom! for those wondering.

Onto the unboxing, this is the Anime Limited Collector's Edition release for the entire series. The episodes included are spread across 2 Blu-ray discs in English audio, French audio and Japanese audio with English & French subtitles. The subtitles are locked during playback and the region is locked to B only.
