Unboxing [UK]: Appleseed: Ex Machina - Film (Blu-ray)

It's time for a set of basic Blu-ray releases here in the UK, starting with Appleseed's CGI sequel.


Appleseed: Ex Machina is the sequel to the computer generated anime Appleseed which brought back the frachise from the old days of anime. Unlike the very original, the new Appleseeds (Appleseed, Ex Machina, XIII) are all CGI style anime. This release was distributed from Warner Bros and given a nice Blu-ray release which includes some extras and both the original language and English dub.

Note that once the disc plays, it will automatically go into the film because a main menu doesn't exist (there's the pop-up menu instead).

Plot:
Deunan, a young female warrior, and Briareos, a veteran cyborg-soldier, are both partners and lovers. As members of E.S.W.A.T., the elite special forces serving Olympus, they are deployed whenever trouble strikes. The two fighters find their partnership tested in a new way by the arrival of a new member to their ranks - an experimental Bioroid named Tereus.
