Unboxing [UK]: Blood-C: The Last Dark - Film: Limited Edition UK *HMV Exclusive* (BD/DVD)

It's now April and I have picked up the latest Limited Edition set from Manga Entertainment UK and also a HMV exclusive set. The film Blood-C: The Last Dark!

Blood-C: The Last Dark is set after the main series (Blood-C) so I recommend to everyone that you watch the TV series before watching the movie. The Blood franchise features Saya a vampire slayer who kills demons and vampires with her sword, so Blood-C should be no different. I honestly haven't watched Blood-C so I can't talk about the show thus far but I know it's quite gory (though still gained a 15 rating).

This Limited Edition set contains the Blu-ray version, DVD version, 4 artcards and a poster. The poster is a interesting addition though being folded up may put off some people. The LE itself is pretty sweet so I do recommend picking up this version of the release. The downside however is that it's only available in HMV stores which is a big problem because anime in stores is too expensive and the sales may not please HMV themselves. At £19.99 it's a good price but when it comes to other shows it's ridiculous (Kids on the Slope for example is £42.99 in HMV).

Production-wise, this UK release was done by Madman Entertainment for Region B release and Manga Entertainment UK for Region 2 release. Funimation Entertainment did most of the work including the English dub track and extra content.

Plot:
Combining killer action from the creators of Ghost in the Shell with hauntingly beautiful art from the makers of X, this award-winning film is the latest masterpiece in the Blood: The Last Vampire franchise.

Saya is part human, part monster, and has one thing on her mind: REVENGE. Visions of twisted experiments and creatures slaughtering everyone she loved fuel her thirst for vengeance. With blade in hand and rage boiling in her veins, she tracks her tormentor to Tokyo—where flesh-hungry beasts have begun to feed. There, she joins a group of young hackers hunting for the same man. As Saya slices her way through lies, traps, flesh, and bone, how much blood will she shed to cut down the mastermind behind her madness?
