Industry News: Sentai Filmworks February 2018 Release Slate

Sentai are offering a rather small slate but two of them are big sets. One of which is a cult favourite from Autumn 2016.

The February 2018 release slate features the following:

 - 2 limited edition sets (one of them is Blu-ray only)

 - 1 re-release for complete collection model

 - 1 DVD release for a new title

While it's part of Section23 Films, the Japanese live-action title Garo: Kiba - The Dark Knight is also coming to Blu-ray on February 20th for SRP $19.98 under the Kraken Releasing label.

Well this is kinda disappointing I would say.

UPDATE: Sentai realised there was a pricing error with regards to Food Wars! The Second Plate. This has been rectified with the listing above. Food Wars Season 2 makes an appearance. The second season's LE matches the first season but it's a fair bit steep for its contents, but there's some cool creativity surrounding it. I'll go for the standard edition to be honest. There's no word on whether the OVAs will be included, with one of them important for the show's third season (which is in limbo because Crunchyroll acquired the rights).

Flip Flappers gets the love it earns with a limited edition release. Honestly I like the set as a whole, though I don't think it's worth $150, more like $100-120 would have been the preferable price point imo. Interestingly there's no DVD included so the format going away seems to be sooner than I expected (it was stated for 2019).
