Unboxing [JP]: Fate/Stay Night [Heaven's Feel] I. presage flower - Limited Edition (BD-BOX)

So I decided to switch from ordering the Aniplex of America version to the Aniplex of Japan version! Both sets are pretty much identical with a couple differences but regardless I made the decision to go after the Japanese releases for the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy this time around.

This is the Amazon Exclusive add-on version of the release.

Fate/Stay Night [Heaven's Feel] I presage flower is the first film in the planned trilogy from studio Ufotable and publisher Aniplex. The films are based on the 'Heaven's Feel' storyline from the original Fate/Stay Night visual novel series by Type Moon and Kinoko Nasu. Heaven's Feel is the third and final arc in the visual novel after Fate and Unlimited Blade Works so knowledge of the previous two arcs are recommended before watching this adaptation (Ufotable did adapt Unlimited Blade Works so there's that).

The first film 'presage flower' was released theatrically in Japan back in October 2017 and was released on Blu-ray in May 2018. There are two more films planned, with the second film 'lost butterfly' currently dated for January 2019 in Japanese theaters. If you think that's it for Fate there's even more adaptations currently planned, most notably from the Fate/Grand Order franchise with a new anime series and films from different studios.

The anime has yet to be licensed here in the UK while Aniplex of America have acquired the rights with an English dub produced. The US release for 'presage flower' is currently dated for November 2018 and is modelled similarly to this Japanese release. Aniplex of America gave Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- the same treatment as well. The reason why I decided to import the Japanese version is because of pricing and how I mainly just watch the franchise subtitled these days. I don't mind dubs but I heard pretty mixed opinions over Unlimited Blade Works' treatment (while Zero was pretty solid).

The version I acquired is the Limited Edition with Amazon Exclusive items since I was curious. Included with the limited edition set is a digipack with the main feature on Blu-ray, a bonus set of on-disc contents on DVD (Region 2 only), and the film's original soundtrack composed by Yuki Kajiura on CD. In addition to the discs the box is a clamshell style rigid set with a hardcover artbook and an animation booklet. The Amazon Exclusive items included are an A3 clear poster and a B2 fabric poster.

As you may suspect, the main feature film is Japanese audio with English subtitles while the bonus disc is Japanese audio only. The Blu-ray disc is region free also.
