A new milestone for my anime collection. I now own some NIS America sets. Here's the first title.
Daily Lives of High School Boys (also known as Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou) is a comedy series about a group of high school boys and their slice of life. The show aired in 2012 and is originated from the manga of the same name released in 2009.
The NIS America releases have a different model from the other companies. This set only contains Japanese audio with locked English subtitles. The version that I picked up is the Premium Edition set which provides a massive chipboard artbox for the artbook and two slim DVD cases. The two cases have one Blu-ray disc each. It also included the replacement disc for Disc 1 to fix the single frame on Episode 8.
Blu-ray Specs:

Plot Synopsis (via NIS America):
Tadakuni, Hidenori, and Yoshitake are students at the all-boys academy, Sanada North High School. This is a tale about just that—their daily lives as students. Winning the basketball tournament? Finding true love? You won’t find any of that here. Whether it’s sparking random arguments while hanging out with friends, meeting that one weird co-worker at a part-time job, or even letting imaginations run wild on a windy afternoon, we’ve all experienced the show’s ordinary but true-to-life themes at one point or another.

ReplyDeleteSorry for doublepost, I made a little misstake in the first post. Do you know if the standard edition is region free?
ReplyDeleteNo problem, the standard edition should be using the exact same discs (especially as the artwork for the standard edition has the ABC listed - http://i.imgur.com/d9SlgVP.jpg).
