Unboxing [US]: Tenchi Muyo!: War on Geminar - Part 1: Limited Edition (BD/DVD)

New batch of anime have just arrived, starting with one of Funimation's popular Limited Edition sets from 2013.

Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar (also known as Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari) is an action harem spinoff series from the Tenchi Muyo franchise. Following the same timeline as Tenchi Muyo GXP, War on Geminar focuses on Tenchi's half brother Kenchi who ends up in Geminar with a bunch of ladies who want him. The show aired throughout 2009 and 2010 as Original Video Animations (with each episode running for 45 minutes).

The Funimation release contains the English and Japanese audio with optional English subtitles (not locked) for the Japanese version. The version that I picked up is the Limited Edition artbox (a standard edition was also released) to hold both parts. The single Blu-ray case contains 3 DVD discs and 2 Blu-ray discs.

Unlike the other Tenchi shows released from Funimation, War on Geminar is compatible with Region B players.

Anime Summary:
Get ready for an adventurous new chapter in the legendary Tenchi franchise – a classic spinoff loaded with interplanetary sex appeal!

Fifteen year old Kenshi Masaki was taken from his home planet, transported to a galaxy far, far away, and captured by a gorgeous princess! This royal beauty quickly claims Kenshi as her personal servant – and lends him out to all the lecherous ladies at her prestigious boarding school. On the rare occasion Kenshi doesn’t have his hands full with a curvaceous coed, he can be found training for the intergalactic mecha battle royale looming on the horizon. Helping the princess save her planet is Kenshi’s ticket home, but losing means he’ll be stuck scrubbing backs in the interstellar sauna for the rest of his life! Every boy should be so lucky.
