Industry News: Funimation January 2017 Release Slate

Much like the previous years, January has always been a small slate for Funimation. Though this time we have only two new additions, one continuing title, one live-action film and a new collection.

Note: I haven't seen Shomin Sample yet but I found this gif to be a good reaction for Funimation's recent antics.
Here's the January 2017 line-up.

And that's all of the titles due for January. I knew the line-up would be short so my expectations were low but it's nice to see more titles getting released on Blu-ray (especially as the weaker titles are now downgraded to DVD).

All titles on this line-up are all dubbed and subbed so there's no need to worry. Out of all of them I'm looking forward to Shomin Sample mainly because of the plot synopsis. I already have the UK steelbooks for the Rurouni Kenshin films but I'm up for double-dipping if needed (the trilogy is worth watching).

From the Autumn 2015 line-up is Garo: Crimson Moon and Shomin Sample as well as the second half of Aquarion Logos.

That's it for this post. I know it's short but what can I say? Oh yeah, Funimation are being daft as per usual with the recent Escaflowne and Code Geass sets. Escaflowne has some issues related to people's sets being dented and the advertised product being modified for the standard owners (i.e. Blue cases instead of Clear and the disc art I believe is different as well). Code Geass R2 suffers from dual mono audio for the English dub, just WTF.

See you all for the next line-up.
