Berserk returns to the UK with a special Blu-ray release! Stock is already low for this set but I picked it up during the MVM 20% off Blu-ray sale.
Berserk's 1997 anime adaptation was one of the most popular shows to appear during the 90s period. The show was notable for its 'read the manga' ending while also giving us a cool soundtrack from composer Susumu Hirasawa, great English dub and a nice coverage of the manga's source material. Just to note that Berserk isn't the friendliest series out there and it can easily offend anyone (well it's Game of Thrones level of offence in terms of sex and violence).
The 1997 anime eventually went out of print in North America by Media Blasters but MVM still held on to the rights since it's one of their best sellers. The Blu-ray actually came from Madman who released it not too long ago, and MVM followed suit not long after since they wanted to upgrade their catalogue titles onto the Blu-ray format.
This release is a collector's edition that contains a sturdy box holding a digipack and a couple artcards. The digipack contains art from the series. The discs are region locked to B while the subtitles are unlockable. On-disc content is similar to the DVD release, such as the Berserk outtakes!
